Pihalni orkester Jesenice – Kranjska gora wind orchestra is strongly connected with the blacksmith’s tradition. Its founding is connected with Zois’s blacksmiths in Bohinj 130 years ago. From the beginnings of wind orchestras in the area of Jesenice, there were numerous wind orchestras operating until they all united into one large blacksmiths wind orchestra of Jesenice in the year 1968. The orchestra advanced rapidly and gradually passed over from classical to a more modern way of playing. Between the years 1975 and 1991, the orchestra was conducted by Ivan Knific, and with him they won numerous awards at competitions and performed some recognizable concerts at home and abroad. Written in the history of the Orchestra are: Žumberačka rapsodija, simfonija Bela Krajina, Halifax. The Orchestra was increasingly adopting South American rhythms and evergreen melodies. After the year 1991, the orchestra is rising once again and has earned a silver medal at the 3rd International Competition in concert performance "Slovenia 2007," a gold medal at the 12th wind band competition in light music program for the Cup Štrucl Vinko (2008), a gold award with honor at the 1st International competition in Avsenik music (2009).

Musikverein Breitenau je posnel 3 zgoščenke “Feuerfest” , “In der Breitenau” in “Schon wieder tönts vom Schachte her”.
The Musikverein Breitenau was mentioned in several reports and notes for the first time in 1871. Since 1960 all members of the Musikverein Breitenau wear traditional uniforms from the miners. The Bergkittel – as they call our jacket – is decorated with 29 golden buttons, which are symbolizing the 29 years of Saint Barbara’s life, the patroness of the miners. The current conductor is Wolfgang Graf; he took up his office already in 1981. Very important for him is the youth within the brass band. The Musikverein Breitenau has already recorded 3 CDs (“Feuerfest” [fireproof], “In der Breitenau” [in Breitenau] and “Schon wieder tönts vom Schachte her” [again it sounds from the shaft]). Events like the “Kirchenkonzert” or “Advent in St. Erhard” are annual cultural occurrences. Very special is the “Bergbaukonzert” (Concert in the open-cast mining of the RHI factory in Breitenau) which was given already 3 times, the last one in June 2010.
Nowadays the Musikverein Breitenau consists of 64 active members, many of them under 30 years. Further, there is a proportion of women of nearly 50 % in brass band. This is very raretheir our district and even in whole Styria. In the last few years the orchestra took part in several competitions like marching. For successful participation they have received the Styrian Panther as well as the Robert-Stolz-Medal.

Najstarejši zapis o delovanju Pihalnega orkestra Križevci sega v leto 1848, ko so nastopili v svečani povorki ob obisku bana Jelačiča. Orkester je deloval do leta 1975 in takrat za nekaj časa prekinil svoje delovanje. Leta 1993 so ga zaposleni na Glasbeni šoli Križevci in nekdanji učenci zopet obudili in s prihodom dirigenta Maria Komazina, leta 1998, se je začela dvigovati kvaliteta igranja. Od leta 2000 sodelujejo na državnem tekmovanju, kjer so dosegli izredne uspehe: tri zlate plakete v kategoriji B (2000, 2002) in kategoriji A (2004). Orkester je leta 2007 osvojil prvo nagrado, leta 2008 tretjo in leta 2009 četrto nagrado na državnem tekmovanju, zato ga štejemo med najboljše hrvaške pihalne orkestre. Sestavljajo ga nekdanji in sedanji učenci Glasbene šole Križevci.
The oldest writen record of the Križevci Wind Orchestra dates back to 1848, when they took the solemn procession on the Ban Jelačič visit. The orchestra was active until 1975, and then ended its work for some time. In 1993, the employees at the Music School Križevci and former pupils revived the orchestra and it began to improve its playing quality with the arrival of Mario Komazin, conductor since 1998. Since 2000 they have participated in the national competition, where they achieved extraordinary success: three gold medals in the category B (2000, 2002) and the category A (2004). O njihovi kakovosti pričajo zlate medalje s svetovnih prvenstev pihalnih orkestrov v Kerkradeju in najvišji naslovi z drugih tekmovanj v mednarodnem in domačem okolju.
The official and documented beginnings of the miners wind orchestra, which today carries the name of The Wind Orchestra of Coalmine Velenje, reach back into the year 1919, although most likely it is even older. Wind orchestras were characteristical for mining areas and were an indispensable companion to the lives of the miners in happy and sad moments. Today the orchestra is helping to create the cultural and social life in Velenje and its surroundings, and it also performs throughout Slovenia. It has grown to be an excellent orchestra of amateur musicians with long years of experience and extensive knowledge. Besides traditional wind music, they perform modern, classical and light music pieces. Gold medals from the world championships of wind orchestras in Kerkrade (The Netherlands) and the highest titles from other competitions from international and home environments are witness to the orchestra's quality.
