Each participant conducts the compulsory piece (no rehearsing)
and rehearses for 12 minutes one of four compositions, drawn
by lot. Each conductor can decide how many singers out of
the 24 members of the choir should perform and rehearse compositions
from the old music programme.

Finale/ public concert with the same
mixed choir
Each participant performs two compositions, rehearsed in the
morning.
3. JURY AND PRIZES
The jury is international and consists of
7 members (2 from Slovenia, 5 from abroad). The decision of
the jury is final.
Prize Fund for the finals is 5000 EUR.
Besides monetary awards additional special prizes and practical
awards will be given.
4. FEES, SCORES, ACCOMODATION, TRANSPORT AND MEALS
* Application fee for active participants:
25 EUR (non-refundable), to be paid upon the application (when
we receive your application, we will send you the documents
needed to pay the application fee).
* Participation fee:
Participation fee will have to be paid
after applicants have been accepted. It includes scores and
study tour (for passive participants only). Organisers cover
the costs of two meals a day (lunch and dinner).

About Europa Cantat / Noël Minet Fund
Scores:
All the scores are included in the participation fee for active
participants.
All the scores are included in the participation
fee for passive participants, who send the application form
until November 17th. You may apply as passive participant
later than November 17th but in this case you need to order
scores by yourself. In this case you have 70 EUR discount
of the participation fee.
Parts of the scores will be published
on website in September to get an idea about the program.
For Slovenian compositions you can write in advance to mihela.jagodic@jskd.si.
See the competition for free:
If you don't need the scores, you are not interested to participate
in study tour and don't need meals, you can come to see the
first and second round for free. You don't need to send the
application. However, you will need to buy a ticket for the
finale (10 EUR).
Accommodation:
Participants will have to cover the cost of the accommodation.
Several hotels, pensions and hostels are available. We will
publish a list in September and we will ask you to book directly.

contact mihela.jagodic@jskd.si
as soon as possible so we can ask families to get involved.
Travel expenses:
All participants of the competition have
to cover their own travel expenses.
5. APPLICATIONS
Application must include the following documents:
Active participants - deadline for applications:

- CV (biography)
- 1 photo
by post:
- A videotape or DVD of concert and rehearsal - the choir
conducted by the competitor. The conductor has to be clearly
seen, not only from far away. The recording should be at least
15 minutes long. Recording day may not be prior to 1. January
2008.
If participant does not have a recording
from concert, he must send recording from rehearsal - compositions
must be performed from beginning to end without interruptions.
- Recommendation letter of the conducting professor / a reputable
choral expert / the national choral organisation in your country
Passive participants - deadline for application
November 17th (for those who would like to order scores) or
December 31st, 2008 for other passive participants.
