SERIES OF HISTORICAL-THEORETICAL LECTURES

Lectures and analysis of important authorial and historically significant films and individual screen writing, directing or aesthetic structures, innovations, philosophies and poetics. Lecturing are domestic and foreign critics, social scientists, film directors, and other experts.

 

FILM SEMINAR/LABORATORY I & II

The participants of the lectures, exercises, productions, conversations and discussions are acquainted with the most recent guidelines of the international and Slovenian productions, creative procedures, individual work practices in film, methodical questions, core knowledge and the newest achievements in the individual fields of film art.

 

YOUTH FILM WORKSHOP – ANIMATION

This traditional international intensive workshop takes place over several weeks and is intended mostly for younger people wanting to closely learn about the film medium, animation, motion picture and documentary films, the camera and film story. It is also for those who wish to make a movie by themselves.

 

SCREENWRITING LABORATORY

This training enables writers to produce quality film, television or documentary texts to enter the field of film on all levels, ranging from productions in clubs and on local TV stations to professional TV and film production. Mentors are reputable, innovative Slovenian and foreign screen writers, critics, theoreticians, media experts, social scientists and humanists that grant the trainees a wide, competent insight into screen writing, film culture, current social reality and guide their work.

 

CINEMA CAMPUS

The traditional cinema campus creates a creative atmosphere where experience and maturity meet young inspiration and creative search. It brings together and enhances production and educational modules of JSKD’s film activities.

 

SPECIALIST CAMERA WORKSHOP

A one-month intensive workshop offers creative cooperation between screen writers, directors and cameramen, through a number of study exercises and filming in a real filming environment of a motion picture. The participants, guided by experts, prepare a detailed analysis of the scenes, camera movement, shot composition, light studies and storyboards. They also shoot a film using professional film, light and set techniques.
