ABOUT WORSHOP {body_time_space} AND TEACHERS:
The physical body is trained to modulate energy through dynamic meditations and chi cultivation practices, looking at the body-entity as very charged matter able to strategize itself, shifting constantly between being a shape, an image, an object, an animal, a system. Working with and in the space, time and presence, each body will be engaged and challenged in a question-making process concerning improvisation and its tools. How to sustain an improvised thought or action? How such action transposed into the space? How do we engage composition? How do we engage/regenerate in our own working process?
Vania Rovisco, performer (PT). Attended the Course of Contemporary Dance for Interpreters by Forum Dança in Lisbon, Portugal. Was integrated from 2001 – 2007 in Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods company, having co-created “Alibi”; “Visitors Only”; “Replacement”; “It’s not funny” and participated in the improvisation projects “Auf der Tisch”; “Revisited” and “Impressions”. She has extended her tools and craft into directing movement for theater pieces; improvising with a musical instrument – the horn; conceives spaces that are containers for her installations/projects; worked in film with Pierre Coulibeuf in “Dedale”; edits her own video work; performs pieces/installs objects and gives workshops. Foresees herself with an active participating role in creation. With Jochen Arbeit and Abraham Hurtado conceived and founded the artistic network AADK, Aktuelle Architektur der Kultur, a platform from where other perceptions of work can surface. A free lancer, she engages her time with researching elements of improvisation into composition.
Maria F. Scaroni  - performer, dance maker (IT). From Italian TV dance productions to release-based and post-modern dance techniques, from contact improvisation to literature studies and theoretical engagement, installation and stage works, Maria F. Scaroni is moving through the complex network of learning and making dances since 1996. Based in Berlin and San Francisco, she is lately very intrigued by pop aesthetics and spirituality and  discourses around embodiment, performance and ritual. Current collaborations: Jess Curtis/Gravity,  AADK/Vania Rovisco, Wilhelm Groener, Hanna Hegenscheidt, Friederike Plafki and improvisational collective practices (with Meg Stuart; P.O.R.C.H./Ponderosa; around queer-identified San Francisco-based choreographers and artists including master-dance pioneer- healer Sara Shelton Mann). With Vania Rovisco she is developing installation works and establishing a teaching practice focusing mostly on the forms and practices of “contemporary bodies” (P.O.R.C.H./Ponderosa). She holds a Masters degree in Italian Modern Literature, with a focus on Media and Communication and a thesis on education and dance.
