DELAVNICE PPŠ 2025 / WORKSHOPS SDS 2025

Bgirl Tamala & Bboy Vision: BREAKDANCE

Delavnica bo potekala v slovenščini in angleščini. / The workshop is going to be in Slovenian and English.

SLO:

ENG:
The workshop will introduce breakdancing and its origins and specifics to participants. The original name for this dance is “bboying or bgirling”, but recently only “breaking” has been used. At the workshop, participants will learn the basics and upgrades and will also focus on musicality. The most attention will be paid to footwork and floorwork, which are very important for breaking, and these elements can also be transferred to other dance styles. A unique concept that breaking brought to the world of dance is the so-called “battle” or “dance battle”; this is a kind of dialogue with dance movements, which will also be presented and practiced at the workshop.

Enya Belak: VIDEO PLESNA DELAVNICA Pespektiva telesa / VIDEO DANCE WORKSHOP Body perspectives

Delavnica bo potekala v slovenščini in angleščini. / The workshop is going to be in Slovenian and English.

SLO:

ENG:
The workshop 'Body Perspective' is intended for anyone interested in dance, movement and choreography in relation to the camera. Together we will explore different ways of looking at the moving body and the perspectives that choreography offers for film. In the first part of the workshop, we will focus on exploring choreography through basic film editing techniques. Based on choreographic sequences, we will develop ideas for a film, focusing on the placement of the body in space in relation to the camera. The camera can become a dancer and co-creator of choreography. When we place the body in front of the camera, we shape and make decisions about how we will present it. We decide what will be visible, what will be hidden or disguised, when we will show the whole body and when we will focus on a specific detail. The films will be screened at the workshop presentation at the end of the Summer Dance School.

ENG:

Sebastian Geč: VOGUING NIGHT OUT *

Delavnica bo potekala v slovenščini in angleščini. / The workshop is going to be in Slovenian and English.

SLO:
European runway, american runway in All American runway.

2012 je sodeloval z Jerome Bél-om na Dunaju v predstavi The show must go on. Zadnji film The mask of Schwarz Löwenbergs v katerem igra, je premiero doživel na Dunaju marca tege leta.

PRIPRAVA/PREPARATION
Nina Ogrinc

Comprehensive movement function consists of flexibility and mobility, coordination and skill, functional abilities, stability and balance, and strength and power. Just as a house will not stand without a good foundation, the body also needs a well-established foundation for successful dance performance. By improving physical fitness, artistic performance can also be improved and injuries can be prevented or existing (chronic) pain can be reduced.  The goal of the workshop is to familiarize participants with the importance of physical preparation and the implementation of support exercises, which are crucial for the needs of a good and healthy dancer during daily dance training. The workshop will be held in Slovene.

KOREOGRAFSKA DELAVNICA / CHOREOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP I-II Mateja Železnik

Začeli bomo z vodeno improvizacijo, usmerjeno v prebujanje prisotnosti, fluidnosti in zavedanja telesa v trenutku – tukaj in zdaj.

This workshop is open to all dancers and movers interested in exploring movement in a relaxed, playful, and personal way. It offers an opportunity to free the body and mind and is intended for those seeking a deeper connection with themselves and a more authentic expression through movement.
We will begin with a guided improvisation designed to awaken presence, fluidity and bodily awareness in the moment - here and now. We’ll explore variations in intensity and dynamics, while gently incorporating elements of ballet technique and strength exercises. This first part is about tuning in, activating the body and building the physical and mental readiness needed to approach the second part of the workshop.
In the second part we will learn a short phrase that combines a range of movement qualities. The material will shift between soft, released movement and faster, more explosive sections, as well as include moments that require technical clarity and control. We will also explore rhythmic changes to encourage adaptability and presence in movement. The aim is to experience how contrasting physical ideas can coexist within a single phrase, and to observe how the body responds to these shifts, how we guide it and how we can develop control in transitioning between different movement qualities.

V drugem delu bo v ospredju individualno raziskovanje.

The second part will be dedicated to individual research. A shared theme or question will serve as a starting point, inviting participants to respond through their own movement expression. Everyone will have the opportunity to develop a short sequence that reflects their inner state and thought process. Together, we will work on recognising and overcoming habitual patterns and internal barriers that may limit our ability to explore the unknown.
With no expectations towards ourselves or others, we will co-create a safe and welcoming environment, allowing our movement to be who we are.
